Our colleagues at SubseaTech signed a sales agreement with a major geotechnical company in Japan for the supply of a SeaCAT USV equipped with multibeam, side scan and sub-bottom profiling sonars, among other sensors.
This is the first significant commercial result generated by the SeaClear and SeaClear 2.0 projects, with a vessel directly benefiting from several features developed during the projects ,such as the ROV Launching and Recovery System, motorized instrument wells, and tilting A-frame and bow thrusters.
The SeaCat USV is planned to be delivered in April 2025 and will be mainly used for geotechnical and cable surveys on wind farms – The first of its kind in Japan!
