Our colleagues at Fraunhofer CML ran a couple of sea trials, using various litter objects in varied locations and conditions. Their goal? To collect sonar data images of marine litter objects (like the one depicted in this post). These images will then be used for the training of the machine learning model of the SeaClear2.0 robotic system to later allow automatic detection of marine litter when deployed in operation.
