Regional agency DUNEA, our project partner, participated in The Conference on Spatial Planning of the Maritime Area of the Republic of Croatia, which was organized in Dubrovnik, Croatia, on May 8th, 2024. Renata Glunčić, senior expert for the preparation and implementation of EU projects, presented the topic “Innovative Solutions for the Problem of Waste in the Sea – Examples of Good Practice”.
As part of the presentation, projects that the Regional Agency DUNEA implemented and is still implementing with the aim of reducing, and especially raising awareness of the global problem of waste in the sea, were presented.
Projects SeaClear, and SeaClear 2.0 were highlighted, with an emphasis on the commitment in the fight against the problem of marine litter. SeaClear 2.0 specifically seeks to develop a comprehensive approach to solving this problem by 2030, supporting the Mission to restore, protect, and preserve the health of our ocean, seas, and waters.
The regional agency DUNEA, as the regional coordinator for the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, brings rich experience and knowledge in raising awareness of this important topic, which is confirmed by previous successfully implemented projects.
