DUNEA REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT AGENCY

The Regional Development Agency Dubrovnik-Neretva County DUNEA was founded in 2006 at the initiative of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County and its basic role is to achieve sustainable development of the County as well as to improve and coordinate existing development activities in accordance with the needs of the Region, national requirements of the European Union in order to plan the future economic development with bordering regions.
DUNEA currently employs 25 staff members specializing in project management, coordination of development strategies, the development of joint projects through inter-regional and cross-border cooperation, advisory and technical assistance to enterpreneurs, organizing various workshops, seminars and events, participation in statistical regions and promoting investment opportunities. The pool of human resources includes economy, tourism, agriculture, ICT, energy management, engineering, education and culture professionals.
The Regional Development Agency Dubrovnik-Neretva DUNEA is researching litter occurrence in specific environments. In the SeaClear2.0 project this will be used as an input to help train the AI responsible for decision-making in litter collection and distinguishing between marine wildlife and waste. DUNEA is also undertaking a risk analysis for the collection of litter and developing the communication, dissemination, and stakeholder engagement strategy of the project.
