SYMBIOSIS Centre was established by the Sotenäs Municipality, in Sweden, to combat the massive influx of marine plastic litter.

Through the SeaClear2.0 Associated Regions grant, SYMBIOSIS will develop a test bed for upcycling, reusing and recycling of marine waste, including protocols and practices for finding, retrieving and collecting ghost fishing gear using high-tech and traditional knowledge from professional fishers and divers.
