Seasonal monitoring of marine litter on Lazzaretto Nuovo Island, Venice, using the SeaClear2.0 gamified app.
On 11th September, project partner, VeniceLagoonPlasticFree, in collaboration with Lazzaretti Veneziani carried out a seasonal monitoring of stranded litter on the Sant’Erasmo channel of Lazzaretto Nuovo, the island-ecomuseum of the Venetian Lagoon.
Using the SeaClear 2.0 Mare Pulito app, they were able to monitor marine plastic waste. The app also offers interactive games to support community participation in beach clean-up activities and is available on Apple and Android devices!
