On 3 November 2025, a coastal clean-up and awareness event was held in Poti, along the Maltakva coastal area, under the slogan “Let’s make the environment better and keep the sea clean.”
The activity was organised by the Department of Sustainable Development and Innovation of Poti Municipality City Hall and the Georgian Environmental and Sustainable Development Group, as part of the Plastic Litter Prevention Georgia project, supported through the SeaClear2.0 Associated Regions grant. The project addresses plastic pollution in Georgian waterways by testing three plastic capture methods in the Cherpalka River.
Around 100 participants, including students, teachers, and municipal staff, actively took part in the clean-up and awareness activities.
