Thanks to the efforts of our project partner Venice Lagoon Plastic Free, we’re happy to welcome Gondolieri Sommozzatori Divisione Artiglio di Venezia, a volunteer gondolier scuba diving group, as a member of the Venice Community of Practice!
💙 For years, these dedicated divers have been recovering waste from Venice’s canal beds, making a real difference to the local marine environment.
Their commitment now extends to the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters”, with their “Canali Puliti” canal clean-up initiative officially submitted as an action under the Mission Charter.
👏 Led by Venice Lagoon Plastic Free, the Venice Community of Practice continues to grow, bringing together local organisations, volunteers and stakeholders committed to protecting Venice’s waters. As part of SeaClear2.0, this community provides a space to share knowledge, exchange experiences and work together on practical solutions to marine litter.
A big thank you to Venice Lagoon Plastic Free for strengthening this local network and to the divers for their continued dedication to cleaner canals!
