The Ghost Net Hunter project kicked off with an Ex-ante analysis in Hatay, Turkey, to better understand the area’s environmental and social baseline and with the launch of their ghost net mapping and tracking initiative.
Followed by a stakeholder coordination meeting and a participatory decision-making workshop on ghost net fishing and prevention, these early actions of the project are part of the project’s broader strategy grounded in local knowledge and technical expertise.
The GhostNetHunter project has indirectly received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme under SeaClear2.0 (GA no 101093822).
