85% of the entire Mediterranean production of the EU flat oyster takes place in Mali Ston bay, Dubrovnik.

A Special Natural Reserve and part of the European Natura 2000 network, yet marine litter from the intense aquaculture activity in the area is severely affecting the nearby environment.
